Rasheed Shabazz is the Project Lead for the Black Muslim Youth Project (BMY) with The Family and Youth Institute. In this role, he is responsible for developing and coordinating research, preparing educational materials, and engaging communities with the BMY project.

Rasheed has Bachelors degrees in African American Studies and Political Science from the University of California, Berkeley, where he was a McNair Scholar and later a Visiting Scholar. Rasheed has over a decade of experience in youth development and higher education, and he is also an award-winning journalist and photographer.

Rasheed resides in the Bay Area with his two cats, Safiya and Geronimo.
