The Family and Youth Institute (The FYI) is an innovative 501(c)3 not for profit mental health research and education institute dedicated to strengthening Muslim American individuals, families, and communities. With increasing demand for its research output and community education offerings, The FYI is growing rapidly. 

The FYI is seeking a highly motivated Community Outreach Manager to establish relationships with community leaders and organizations in order to provide relevant research and resources to benefit their community. Responsibilities and Duties

  • • Identify and build relationships with community leaders across the nation
  • Consistently communicate with organizations and leaders to provide relevant research and resources to utilize in their community programming

Background and Experience

  • • Bachelor’s degree 
  • • Preferred experience: Public Relations, Communications, Sales and customer relations 
  • • Prior experience of working with American Muslim imams, community leaders, and organizations

  • • Salary $60,000
  • • Full-time, flexible hours, 15 days paid PTO, 10 paid holidays, health insurance allowance

The FYI is seeking a well-organized Executive Assistant t​​o provide support for the Executive Director. This is a great opportunity to establish working relationships with high-level executives and contribute to the overall efficiency of the organization. Responsibilities 

  • • Providing administrative communications support  (e-mails, memos, phone calls, documenting ideas) 
  • • Excellent at documenting, recording, and organizing ideas and documents
  • • Managing the executive’s calendar, including making appointments and prioritizing the most sensitive matters
  • • Managing information flow in a timely and accurate manner
  • • Researching and conducting data to prepare documents for review and presentation by boards of directors, committees, and executives.

Skills

  • • Discretion and confidentiality
  • • Minimum Associates Degree 
  • • 2+ years work experience as an Executive Assistant, Personal Assistant or similar role
  • • Time management and ability to meet deadlines
  • • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • • Strong organizational and ability to multitask  
  • • A proactive approach to problem-solving with strong decision-making skills.
  • • Proactivity and self-direction
  • • Experience in Google Workspace 
  • • Excellent interpersonal skills; ability to excel in independent and team-based work and to collaborate effectively with diverse constituencies (Mental Health)

Benefits

The FYI is seeking a highly motivated Project Administrator to manage the institute’s grant projects  through their lifecycle and ensure proper due diligence. More information about The FYI is found at www.TheFYI.org. 

Responsibilities and Duties 

  • • Managing The FYI grant projects 
  • • Ensuring compliance with grant regulations
  • • Tracking grant results, preparing progress and financial reports to grant funders
  • • Optimizing the grant administration process
  • • Developing and maintaining positive relationships with foundations and other stakeholders.
  • • Coordinating and engaging with grant writer and project team members
  • • Creating and implementing the spending plan
  • • Tracking expenses related to the grants
  • • Creating progress and financial reports
  • • Tracking the project timelines
  • • Event planning for the conference/meetings
  • • Assisting with travel arrangements for the project leaders and consultants

Qualifications and Skills

  • • Experience managing grant projects
  • • Experience in budget management 
  • • Excellent organizational and project management skills
  • • Good interpersonal skills
  • • Methodical and strategic thinking
  • • The ability to use initiative and judgment to organize and prioritize a range of complex tasks and competing demands under pressure. 
  • • Ability to work independently
  • • Knowledge of grant proposal submission and grant process

Background and Experience

  • • Minimum of Bachelor’s degree 
  • • 3 years of Project Management experience
  • • Past experience with accounting, grant writing, fund development, and project management preferred

  • • Salary: $60,000 per/year 
  • • The position is full-time, flexible hours (40 hours a week) 
  • • Benefits:10 paid holidays, 2 weeks paid time off, health care allowance
  • • Virtual position (US based only)
