The Family and Youth Institute (The FYI) is an innovative 501(c)3 not for profit mental health research and education institute dedicated to strengthening Muslim American individuals, families, and communities. With increasing demand for its research output and community education offerings, The FYI is growing rapidly. 

The FYI is seeking a highly motivated Community Outreach Manager to establish relationships with community leaders and organizations in order to provide relevant research and resources to benefit their community. Responsibilities and Duties

  • • Develop an effective outreach strategy to build network of organizational relationships within a virtual work environment
  • • Identify and build relationships with community leaders across the nation
  • Consistently communicate with organizations and leaders to provide relevant research and resources to utilize in their community programming

Background and Experience

  • • Bachelor’s degree 
  • • Preferred experience: Public Relations, Communications, Sales and customer relations 
  • • Prior experience of working with American Muslim imams, community leaders, and organizations

Other

  • • Salary $60,000
  • • Full-time, flexible hours, 15 days paid PTO, 10 paid holidays, health insurance allowance

The FYI is seeking a highly motivated and organized Development Assistant with a strong desire to strengthen young people and their families to assist development efforts. Reporting to the Development Officer, this will begin as a part-time position with the intent to grow into a full-time role. 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Responsibilities and Duties 

  • • Supporting the development and execution of The FYI’s annual fundraising plan 
  • • Managing essential department administrative duties to improve donor relations 
  • • Assisting in special events planning and execution (e.g. fundraising dinners)
  • • Assisting with the development of compelling case for support materials and presentations that highlight projects and impact.
  • • Performing  market research to discover best practices and procurement opportunities
  • • Researching potential prospects and add information to constituent database

Qualifications

  • • Demonstrate excellence in organizational and communication skills
  • • Passion for supporting mental health, families and youth.
  • • Excellent interpersonal skills;
  • • Ability to excel in independent and team-based work and to collaborate effectively with diverse constituencies
  • • Ability to excel as part of a geographically dispersed remote team, including reporting to a supervisor in another location
  • • Experience in public speaking, storytelling, social media, and data management are assets for the position 

Background and Experience

  • • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
  • • At least 3+ years of experience
  • • Experience working with the Muslim American community, preference for previously having worked within the Muslim American development community

Other

  • • Salary: $30,000 per/year 
  • • The position is part-time, flexible hours (20 hours a week) 
  • • Benefits:10 paid holidays, 2 weeks paid time off,
  • • Virtual position (US based only)
  • • Minimal travel required for special events (e.g. annual fundraising dinner(s))
