By visiting The FYI’s website, you accept the practices described in this privacy policy.

THE INFORMATION WE COLLECT

The FYI does not automatically collect your personally identifiable information when your visit our website. We do recognize the internet service provider of visitors, as well as the domain name or IP address of the server from where you are visiting. This information is used to determine the number of visitors to our site and sources of traffic. The data we collect are totals of those visiting from a domain, not information on individual users.

We cannot recognize the personally identifiable data—such as names, postal addresses, e-mail addresses, contact information, credit card information or other information—about our visitors that would allow us to identify the particular visitors to our website.

You do not have to provide any personal information on our website unless you choose to do so. The FYI only gathers personal information—such as your name, postal address, e-mail address, contact information, credit card information or other information—only when you voluntarily submit it in an online form. If you make a donation online, personal information will be collected from you in order to process that donation.

CONTACT FORMS

When visitors sign-up for e-mail communication such as newsletters and updates we collect the following fields: First Name, Last Name, E-Mail Address, and Country. When you submit contact information to download or view gated content, we utilize temporary cookies to ensure we do not prompt you again since you have already signed up.

We do not manipulate the cookies to obtain any additional information. Once the cookie is created it is stored in your browser and we do not continue to track it. If the user clears their cache, the cookie will be deleted and our website will prompt for the same information again.

ANALYTICS

We utilize Google Analytics to track metrics on our website such as the amount of traffic it receives. However, none of this data allows us to identify you and neither is it our intention to identify you. The data is anonymous and is provided to us directly by Google. More information on how Google utilizes data and deals with compliance can be found here.  We also utilize other third-party services (such as NextRoll) that may collect information about your activity to help us measure and analyze traffic and browsing activity on our site.

HOW WE USE INFORMATION

The FYI is the sole owner of any information collected on this site. The FYI does not sell personal information about its website users or its offline donors. We do share and store your data on other sub-processing platforms such as MailChimp and Neon, which have their own rigorous data privacy and security polices, compliant with all applicable laws.

The FYI states unambiguously that (a) it will not sell, trade and share a donor’s personal information with anyone else, or (b) it will only share personal information once the donor has given us specific permission to do so.

The personal information you provide us when using our website or by other means—such as your name, postal address, e-mail address, contact information, credit card information or other information—will be kept strictly confidential and used to support your customer relationship with The FYI, as well as to notify you of updated information.

If you allow us to, we will use personal information that you submit in an online or offline form to place you on our mailing list for regular updates. If you do not wish to receive such mailings from The FYI, you will have the opportunity at any time to request removal from future mailings by contacting us.

The FYI strongly adheres to anti-spam practices in its e-mail outreach. All e-mails sent on our list have easy-to-follow unsubscribe instructions at the bottom of each e-mail, and lists are never shared with any third parties.

DONATIONS AND CREDIT CARD SECURITY

When you donate through our website we pass your information on to our fully PCI compliant sub-processor Neon. We store the following fields: First Name, Last Name, Address, Phone Number, and Donation Amount(s).

All credit card information is processed via Neon. Credit card information is not visible to us and we are unable to modify the submitted data. Only you are able to modify your data through the self-donor management portal.

HOW LONG WE RETAIN YOUR DATA

If you sign up through our website contact forms your contact information is stored indefinitely. This is so we can continue to directly send you communications based on your requested preferences.

You always have the right to request the modification or deletion of personal data at your convenience by contacting us at info(at)thefyi.org.
