Khalid Elzamzamy, MD, is a Researcher at The Family and Youth Institute. Khalid holds a Medical degree from Ain Shams University, Egypt. He is currently completing his Psychiatry residency training at Hamad Medical Corporation, Qatar, as well as completing a Master’s degree in Islamic Studies at Hamad Bin Khalifa University, Qatar.
His past experience includes working as a Research Assistant at Yale University and working in the Department of Refugee and Mental Health at Caring Health Center in Springfield Massachusettes.
Dr. Elzamzamy’s interests include investigating the history and current practice of mental health in Arab, Muslim and migrant communities, as well as the interplay between mental health, culture, spirituality, and religiosity.
