Khalid Elzamzamy is a Researcher at The Family and Youth Institute. Khalid holds a Medical degree from Ain Shams University in Egypt. He is currently completing his Postgraduate training in Psychiatry at the Hamad Medical Corporation in Doha, Qatar as well as completing his Bachelor’s in Islamic studies at Al-Azhar University. His past experience includes working as a Research Assistant at Yale University, Department of Refugee and Mental Health at Caring Health Center, and in the Department of Research and Development at Mirqah Learning and Development. In addition, Dr. Elzamzamy is also working towards a degree in Islamic studies.
His research interests include: Historical contributions of Muslims to the field of mental health; developing an Islamic framework for psychology and mental health; and public health promotion efforts related to mental health.
