
Khalid Elzamzamy, MD, MA, is a Researcher at The Family and Youth Institute. Khalid is a child and adolescent psychiatry fellow at the Institute of Living/Hartford Healthcare in Connecticut. He received his medical degree from Ain Shams University, Egypt, and completed his psychiatry residency and fellowship at Hamad Medical Corporation in Doha, Qatar. He also completed a Master’s degree in Islamic Ethics at Hamad Bin Khalifa University in Qatar. Dr. Elzamzamy’s research interests lie at the interface between mental health, culture, spirituality, and religiosity. His particular interests include: the integration of religion and spirituality in clinical practice; suicide in the Islamic literature and Muslim community; intellectual contributions of pre-modern Muslims to psychology; and Islamic ethics in clinical practice. He previously served as a research assistant at Yale University.
