Sarrah AbuLughod began as the Community Engagement Manager back in 2015 and has recently transitioned off of the executive team to take some time with her family. She graduated from the University of Wisconsin with a Bachelor’s in Human Development & Family Studies and has a Master’s from Hartford Seminary in Religious Studies and is currently working on a certificate in Islamic Chaplaincy.

Sarrah has worked in youth development in one capacity or another for the past 20 years whether it be as a camp counselor with the Girl Scouts of America or a weekend teacher with the Saturday Environmental Academy in Washington, DC. She currently volunteers as an Arabic language teacher at the Islamic Study Center in Charlottesville, VA. She also served on the board of both the Green Muslims and the Next Wave Muslim Initiative and volunteered as a Sunday school teacher at a DC Youth Service Center (juvenile detention facility).
